In all honestly, not only am I terrible at styling my hair, but I really hate having to do it. I find taking the time to blow dry, straighten, or curl my hair exhausting, and usually pointless since I normally hate the results. Now that I have a newborn, I really look for ways to cut time off my haircare whenever possible, or at least extend my style when I do take the time to do it. That means I usually grab a dry shampoo to help salvage a previous good hair day, or to help make a terrible hair day at least somewhat decent.
I decided to try a new product that isn’t really a dry shampoo, but a styling product that texturizes, amplifies, and refreshes. The Triple Sec 3-in-1 from Drybar claims to deliver these three benefits. This airy dry spray creates instant texture, volume, and body.
I have very fine hair, so something that can help with texture, especially when it has just been washed is something I look for. Because it’s fine, I also love that this adds volume and body, but without weighing it down. This product claims to be perfect for refreshing limp locks, providing a soft, matte texture for a perfectly tousled look. It also claims to amplify flat hair for intense volume and fullness, and absorb oils, leaving hair feeling fresh and clean. I was skeptical at first of these claims because most styling products feel like they really weigh my hair down, and most dry shampoos leave my hair feeling crunchy or with a horrible white cast that never seems to disappear.
This product is incredibly light, yet really adds lots of texture and volume to my hair. I also love that is helps to absorb oil like a dry shampoo, since I have have pretty oily hair, especially during the warmer months. It is scented quite strongly, which I normally don’t care for, but it is a very pleasant scent, and doesn’t linger too much.
Overall, I love the Triple Sec, and it has been a mainstay in helping my hair look somewhat decent during these first months with a baby, and I plan on keeping it in my haircare lineup for good!
